How we decide whether a clinic website can be found

The 19-point method behind every free audit we send. Published in full, so you can check whether it is worth anything before you recommend it to anyone.

Why this method exists

A patient looking for an acupuncturist today does two things, often in this order: they search, and they read an AI-generated answer. Neither of those processes opens your homepage and judges the quality of your acupuncture. They read signals — structured data, page language, headings, alt text, contact details — and if those signals are missing, the practice is not shown, no matter how good the treatment is.

This audit measures those signals. It does not measure clinical quality, and it makes no claim about it.

The 19 checks, in six groups

1. Foundations (5)

2. Machine readability (3)

3. Business identity (3)

4. Being quotable by AI assistants (2)

5. Conversion path (3)

6. On-page basics (3)

Real results: nine Dutch practices

Audits run between September and November 2026 on nine acupuncture and TCM practice websites in the Netherlands. Practice names are withheld. Every site belongs to a working practice with real patients.

What went wrong, and how often

DefectPracticesShare
No FAQ or Service schema — nothing for an AI assistant to quote9 / 9100%
No business entity in structured data8 / 989%
Schema missing name / address / phone8 / 989%
No meta description7 / 978%
Phone number not clickable on mobile6 / 967%
No structured data at all5 / 956%
Images without alt text4 / 944%
Page language tag does not match the market3 / 933%

The single most consistent finding is also the most consequential: not one of the nine practices had FAQ or Service structured data. That is the format an AI assistant reads when it answers "who does acupuncture for migraines near Hoofddorp". Without it, the assistant has nothing specific to quote, so it quotes someone else.

We applied the same audit to ourselves

ainal.info scored 77/100. These are our own unresolved defects, unedited:

We are publishing this because a method that only ever finds faults in the client is not a method, it is a sales script. A practice that scores 77 has real work left to do; so do we.

How the score is built

Each check returns pass, warn or fail. Pass earns full points, warn earns partial, fail earns zero. Checks are weighted unevenly on purpose: business identity and machine readability carry more weight than cosmetic items, because they decide whether the site appears at all, not how it looks when it does. Nine practices landed between 47 and 85, which is the normal range for a well-run practice that has never had technical SEO work done.

What this audit does not do

What you receive, free

A plain-language PDF-style report per practice: the score, the 19 checks with pass/warn/fail, and for each failure a one-line statement of what to change. No obligation, no follow-up sequence, and no requirement to buy anything. If a practice fixes the defects themselves, that is a good outcome.

If a practice wants the work done

A complete bilingual practice website — Dutch, English and Chinese, MedicalClinic structured data, mobile booking path, deployed and indexed: USD 199 one-off, delivered in 10 business days, with a 30-day full refund if the result is not acceptable. No subscription. The site, its content and the domain remain the practice's property.

Ask for the method or the sample report

Write to tcm@lieke-ai.com and say what you want: the methodology document, a sample audit report, or a free audit for a specific practice. A person answers, not an autoresponder.
